  I suppose it is only fitting, given that “Spanish”, in the lexicon of sexual activities, refers to sex with a woman’s breasts, that Spanish writer/director Bigas Luna’s “Iberian trilogy” should feature several characters with breast fetishes.

  In Jamón Jamón (1992), both José Luis (Jordi Mollà) and Raùl (Javier Bardem) are fixated on the breasts of their (multiple) female partners and Silvia (Penelope Cruz) has discussions with each of them, during sex, about what her breasts taste like (one like omelette, the other like jamón is the consensus).  In Huevos de Oro (Golden Balls, 1993), Benito (Javier Bardem) is also breast fixated and also talks about the taste and smell of the breasts he is nuzzling.  However, the final bioskop,

  I don’horizon think I appreciated LA TETA Y LA LUNA much when I saw it on VHS in the 1990’s, but returning to it now as an older and wiser man trying to learn Spanish, it is really a rather magical and unique film, whimsical and insightful as its young narrator attempts to make sense of the confusing behaviour of the adults around him.

  Bueno, qué película… Primero que todo, “La teta y la luna” berpenyakitan parece un título excelente, super distintivo, extraño y memorable, al igual que la peli. Es una obra completamente bizarra y de khazanah gusto que cuenta con una realización muy prolija a diferencia de la mayoría de producciones que tocan estos temas. Un relato infantil, perverso y absurdo lleno de metáforas de lo más particulares.
  No sabría decir si berpenyakitan gustó o no, supongo que sí (?). No sé, tomar leche nunca será lo mismo.

  La teta y la luna is the last movie in a trilogy also including Jamón jamón and Huevos de oro, all of them intended to be raw and poetic explorations of the role played by sexuality in power dynamics within the Spanish society. I may not like everything about them –Huevos de oro is a mediocre film in my book, as of today–, and yet there is something personal and artistic in the work of Bigas Luna, their director, that virtually compels my respect toward a film such as La teta y la luna.

  A refreshing movie on the puppy love of a young Catalan kid. There is a ethereal and magical feeling to the entire movie that makes it a pleasure to watch. This movie is rich in its imagery of Catalan working class life, of the 50s perhaps, because there was no TV in any house.

  I don’kaki langit think I ever paused to criticise the movie or the director for its flaws. It fully captured my attention with its many quirks, and little jokes. The little boy being the narrator adds so much more to the enjoyment of watching this movie. I guess I takat a knowing smile throughout this flick.

  Certainly this is not a particularly fresh movie. Many of its features could have be inspired from previous films on this theme. It is peculiar in its focus on tits. The scenes showing topless women are not sexual, and unlike Malena or other such movies, the boy always remains innocent.
